Bamboo salt is sea salt burnt in pinewood fire. This is a specialty product originated from Korean. Sea salt is put into bamboo container and heated using pinewood fire. Once melt, the slat is cold down before it is heated and melt again – 8 rounds in total. On the 9th round, the salt is melted at above 1,300 degrees Celsius. After it is cooled, it becomes like rock crystals. The finished product comes in different forms: fine, coarse, granule, grain, powder.
The idea of the process is to get rid of all the impurities in the salt. Only the essence is left for consumption.
